Wild Self
A three month body soul creative journey co-facilitated with Kat nantz
Three month seasonal sessions offered over the course of a year with opportunity to participate in one, two or all three sessions.
WHAT THE PROGRAM IS ABOUT
With Clarissa Pinkola Estés’s Women Who Run With the Wolves as our guide the program will be structured each month around one chapter, or in some cases just one myth or story. Honouring the celebration of animal instinct in the book and our own nature, the program is structured around the different seasons, honouring our body's cyclical nature. The myths and stories will sound and support us into the changing rhythms each new month brings. The three month sessions are structured around the seasons so participants can decide what time of year feels best for them to participate.
Women Who Run With The Wolves is a powerful resource, a sacred text. The book is a love letter to the wild women in each of us- an archetypal force and energy that each of us has. Together in a community of women we will unearth the book’s wisdom through listening, sharing, discussion, dance, movement, writing, art making. It is through these practices in a community of seekers that we begin to see ourselves in the stories, begin to listen for, heel to and live with the Wild Self within.
Gathering in community as women is an ancient practice. The sanctity of the group helps us feel safe, because to truly know ourselves we must be willing to leap from the waters we know. To breathe bigger and deeper than ever before, to speak with a breath so strong it moves the trees, to plant our feet so firmly on the ground that the roots beneath come up to meet us. We are always more than the life we are living, we feel it in our bones. The program is uninterrupted time with parts of you, parts and beings that are long forgotten. The program is time to come into direct contact with your deep knowing.
We don’t do this work alone. The soul is shy but comes alive in community. In community our truth is reflected back to us in each other’s lives and the stories and myths we will read.
We are pack animals, we are a co-regulating species. We need each other, which is why the program centres relationships and we do this work together. This is an honest space. This is a space where you’ll be invited to shed the layers and stories of who you thought you needed to be, to put your feet in the rich soil of your own growth and be witness to the story of your own becoming.
THE STRUCTURE OF THE PROGRAM
Soulful Sundays monthly 4 hour facilitated group video calls. One Sunday a month we will follow the same rhythm of first landing in the body with a somatics practice, discussion about the story or chapter from that month, a creative practice, sharing the creative practice within pairs, small group or large group or a combination, and then a somatic practice before we leave. * NOTE ON THE TIME you won't be sitting in front of the screen for hours being taught at, this is an immersive experience, with plenty of body and movement breaks and different ways of engaging with the content. We welcome you being natural in your space; go for a walk, eat a snack, lay on the floor, stretch, adjust body fluids whenever - you are in charge of your body.
Putting it Into Practice 1.5 hour weekday evening video calls - There will be four of these gatherings in the program. These gatherings will start with an 30-60 min experiential practice, either a creative or body based exercise lead by either. After these calls there be an optional group sharing opportunity after the facilitated practice. This time is for the participants, the facilitators will not be present.
Optional 20 min Coaching Call every month with either Kat or Tessa (this is a good time to check in, ask questions, receive coaching on a specific topic, ask for support, share feedback)
Partner Check Ins Every month you will be paired with someone new and are invited to meet up with that person for a phone call or video chat. The purpose of these pairing is to get to know each other and build connections in the community. You can talk about your life and or discuss the themes ideas that get generated that month.
24/7 Online Circle Platform for community building: sharing ideas, discussing themes in the book, asking questions etc.
Office Hours - every week both Kat and Tessa will each offer a window of time biweekly in the shared group chat where they will make themselves available for office hours to answer any questions about the content, receive feedback from you, share where you're at, etc.

The wild woman archetype is a woman’s intuitive knowing self. She knows what she is hungry for and she goes after it. She honours her inner compass, her inner knowing, and the feminine cycles. She is a fierce protector, and a deeply playful creative force. She lives by her own rules. This wild being lives in every woman without exception. This program is helping each of us recover and remember her , relearning to live with her at the helm, helping us live more intuitively, more open heartedly and more freely.
-
Absolutely. This course is for any and every woman who is longing to connect to a more intuitive, playful, creative part of themselves. We would invite you to consider, when did you decide you weren’t creative? We all come into this world in the most beautiful process of creativity. Children are inherently creative and curious. We often lose touch with this part of ourselves because we learn at a young age to measure or qualify our creative output as “good” or “bad”. We are all creative and being creative regularly puts us in direct line with our intuition that part of ourself that helps us live in alignment with out deeper wild self.
-
Somatic Experiencing/SE is a modality that aims to resolve symptoms of stress, overwhelm and trauma by inviting the body into the process and using effective body based skills to directly intervene with traumatic patterns and survival physiology. When we are stuck in patterns of fight, flight, or freeze, SE helps us release, recover, and become more resilient. Throughout these months together, we will be teaching you easy to use, body based techniques to support yourself in coming out of freeze, expressing a healthy fight response, down regulating your own body and others. These practices once learned will stay with you for life. Giving you access through out your day and life to strategies to stay calm and centred when life gets stressful.
-
We are each a story. The world is made of stories. Historically that is how we learned to live, to stay alive, it’s how we learned our place in the world. This is still true, if not truer today. When we hear the ancient stories in Women Who Run With The Wolves we remember we are never alone during the rites of passage and challenging thresholds in our life. Stories remind us what we are made of, what’s possible and how to move through and out of suffering.
-
Sharing is always optional. Tessa and Kat pride themselves on offering above all, safe spaces to calm the nervous system and create. We can’t learn or do much of anything if we don’t feel safe. You can expect a nourishing, hand crafted container that uniquely holds and believes in the unbounding potential in each person to come home to their inner world. It is a deeply held belief of Kat and Tessa’s that showing up to these spaces is a radical act. Many of us walk through life feeling unseen. When we share ourselves and what’s in our heart in a supportive group with others, something in us settles- let's go; we feel seen, heard and witnessed. When we look to repair our relationship with ourselves, through engaging our creativity, we can then go out into the world and offer our skills to rebuild the loving world we want and so desperately need.
-
Crying is welcomed and encouraged. Tears are a sign you feel safe to let go and move energy through your body. It is a beautiful thing when we cry. Many of the participants cry in the workshops we lead and there is lots of loving support and kleenex there for you. A tenant of the work that is mentioned right away is we are not here to fix each other or offer advice because no one is broken.
